Tauros is probably the best. Mewtwo is the strongest, but its post game, so kinda not useful.

Tauros has the best combo of speed/attack. Chipping with Body Slam into a hyper beam with no recharge because the thing you are fighting is probably going to get knocked. Its crit is something like 20 percent.

Id run it with blizzard and earthquake for coverage. Its almost impossible to deal with.

my personal favorites are Dragonite, Raichu, and Vaporeon, but if i had to pick an overall best? probably Gyarados or Dragonite. Gyarados is cool and has great stats. Dragonite has a great ability and is very cute. neither are too frail

    Are you being serious?

If we're talking about starters, Venusaur solos. It has a type advantage over the first two gym battles, is neutral for Surge, has poison for Erika, and is super effective against Giovanni. Of course, there is the weakness of Sabrina and Blaine.

As for stats, Charizard is fast with high speed, but Venusaur is more bulky in special defense.

I think its a fair match, but with gameplay leaning more towards Venusaur, imma give it the win.

My Charmeleon soloed Brock and almost soloed Surge (his Raichu got me...)

Granted, it did struggle against Misty, but my entire team did (I underestimated her)

Advantage over Erica and better than Blain thanks to Dig

No advantage for Sabrina, but I have no problem relying on brute force

Against the Elite Four there is Ice type and Fighting type, two things Char has the advantage

Nothing against Ghost, so again brute force

And then against Dragon type, which Charizard can learn attacks from

    I like its odds

    OH!!!

    I forgot Giovanni

Ground types have no effect on Charizard, so I'm pretty good where I'm at

Plus, Char know Seismic Toss, and most of his Pokémon are heavy (if memory serves)

So mostly Arcanine competitively but recently i feel more inclined to say Dragonite because now it has a mega as well as it can sweep with draco meteor, set up with tailwing and dragon dance, or weezing because neutralizing gas can activate a Regiggigas or shut down incenaroar's intimidate. Gengar is scary, specially now that it has access to its mega again, and shadow tag is a great ability.
