Lucky egg and exp. share stacking in diamond and pearl (DS)

I am currently trying to work on filling up my pokédex in pokémon pearl. I have the exp. share and spent hours looking for a lucky egg. Eventually I found a chansey with a lucky egg and put it on my first party member. The pokémon I want to level up has been given an exp. share, but the experience it gains has seemingly not increased compared to before I obtained the lucky egg.

Do the lucky egg item and exp. share item not stack in generation 4?

    The exp share does not increase the amount of exp it only splits the exp with whoever is holding it in your party.
