Yeah if you're not accustomed to Kanto, then you can easily miss it. The only nice thing about the Route 22 fight is that Route 22 also has good Pokémon to catch: Mankey, both Nidoran and Spearow. Spearow in particular is one you could go the entire game with, although Doduo→Dodrio is arguably the best Flying Type in the game thanks to Drill Peck + Tri Attack combo. Mankey → Primeape would also make a really solid team pick since Fighting types are actually ok for once. Ideal pick for Charmander users and its a strong option to take down Misty with Physical attacks(since her Pokémon are weak Defensively). Unfortunately, it loses a lot of luster post-Brock because theres only one regional Steel Type, no Steel Type Gym/E4 and the bulk of Ice Types on Lorelai are also strong Defensively(and Slowbro + Jynx can OHKO with Psychic. You have poor anti-Psychic coverage too since Dark = Special…).

the nidorans aren’t on rt 22 in frlg instead on rt 3

So apparently FRLG will be getting HOME support but its rumored to be only 1-way HOME support. Meaning you can shift Pokemon from FRLG to HOME but not the other way if I'm understanding it correctly. That means you cannot get Umbreon/Espeon at all and it makes completing the Dex a royal pain unless you happen to trade with others who have the other version. On the bright side, you'll be able to Shiny Hunt for Deoxys + Lugia + Ho-Oh so… win?
Also, Growlithe sucks in FRLG… doesn't learn Flamethrower naturally until level 49(50 in RBY). You can get the Flamethrower TM in Rocket Game Corner but its 4k Coins(hence NOT CHEAP). Vulpix, by contrast, learns Flamethrower at level 29(35 in RBY) or WAY earlier. Charmander learns Flamethrower at level 31 and that's if you keep it as the little lizard the entire time(level 34 as Charmeleon). Ponyta doesn't learn Flamethrower at all but it can be taught it via TM… a massive boost over its Gen 1 days.

Is vulpix exclusive or not

Ok, I’m probably not going to use a fire type anyway
