Well, I like both
I like the idea of a soft, gentle boy that learns to be confident from Izzy's "just do it" energy
However, I also like the punk that thinks he's everything that learns compassion from Izzy's lovingness
I think they're both great
I also already have designs for both versions

So here's my thought for the companion's style

He would be soft colors. White T-Shirt with light grey shorts. Bright red sneakers to represent his Charmeleon. Bright blue eyes and short blonde hair. His face isn't very defined, more of a round shape. His eyes are wide and his nose isn't pointy (don't really know how else to say it). He just looks soft.

Dark colors. Black jacket. Dark grey shirt. Midnight blue ripped jeans. Dark brown eyes and black fair that's always slicked back. I don't want him overly bulky, but he's built and tall. I want him to have red shoes, though. Like other version, represents his partner.

He could be a foreigner, so his Pokémon isn't from here
Plus, since Alola has the school, he could be smart, often being the brains of the group (but in the beginning doesn't speak up much do to shyness)
