"So why did you bring me here," Ange asks Paxton and Taunie. They're at the Fist of Justice Dojo, where a bunch of people are hitting dummies.

"Because we need to teach you a new way of self defense," Paxton answers. Ange raises her eyebrow.

"What's wrong with my method," she questions.

"Ange," Taunie says softly. "Using Light of Ruin on anyone that gives you problems isn't the way to go."

"I don't do that," Ange argues. The couple laugh.

"So those two Rust Syndicate grunts, the donut thief, and random person that tried to give you a high five aren't you doing that," Paxton counters. Ange sighs.

"Okay, so the last one was pretty bad," she admits. "But the first two deserved it!"

"Well, we want to show you a better way to deal with your threats,' Taunie tells her.

I don't need a better way, though, Ange thinks. So this whole thing is pointless.

The three walk further into the dojo, where a man with bright yellow and orange hair greets them. "Hello," he practically shouts.

"Hey, Ivor," Taunie replies with a smile. "This is our friend Ange. We want to take some self defense classes with her."

Ivor's eyes narrow in on the heterchrom. "Ange," he repeats as a question. "You wouldn't happen to be related to a giant tower of destruction, would you?"

"This is her but she has changed," Paxton informs him, causing both Ange and Taunie to look at him in shock.

"I never thought I'd hear you say that," Ange exclaims. Paxton tilts his head.

    "Say what," he asks.

"That she's changed," Taunie answers. Ange nods in agreement. "You were so dead set on her being bad."

Paxton shrugs. "I see her differently now."

Ange can't help but smile. Coming from him, that means a lot. Unfortunately, he's wrong. She's still going to get revenge.

"Well, good to see that you've become better as a person," Ivor states with a wide smile. "So you want to get better as self defense."

"I guess," Ange responds sadly. She knows the other two won't let her leave.

"Great," the muscle man says with a laugh, apparently unaware to the fact the heterochrom doesn't want to be here. "I'll set you up with Josée to spar with."

A blonde girl with pigtails walk up to Ange, giving a small bow. "You'll be battling me," she states. "Don't worry. I'll go easy."

Ange raises an eyebrow. "Why would you do that," she questions.

"Well, you've never done this before, so..." Josée answers. Ange scoffs.

"You don't need to hold back," she tells the blonde. "I can take you on just fine!"

"Alright..." the sparring partner says unsurely.

"When I count to three y'all may begin," Ivor yells. "One... two... THREE!"

It happens before Ange can even process what's going on. Josée grabs the heterochrom by the wrist and flips her over, slamming Ange onto the ground. The blonde then pushes a hand to Ange's head, forcing her to stay down. Ange struggles against her, but it doesn't help any.

"That's that," Ivor shouts. "Josée wins!"

The blonde gets off Ange and offers her hand. "Good fight!"

Ange takes the hand and gets up. "No need to lie to me," she says. "I was pathetic and didn't stand a chance."

"You just need practice," the other girl tells her. "Wanna go train on the dummy together?"

    Ange smiles. "Yeah! Sure!"

Ange practices defensive maneuvers for three hours. She learned a lot, and none of it involved a giant purple/pink beam of light. It's a lot of fun and she feels stronger after doing it. And with this strength comes hunger.

"I'm starving," the heterochrom exclaims, plopping into a nearby bench.

"I'm pretty hungry, too," Josée agrees. "You want to go to Nouveau Cafe and get lunch?"

Ange smiles, leaping off the bench. "Heck yeah! Let's go!"

    Finally!

    Did it!
