Whodunit? A Pokémon Mystery. (3)

So...

I forgot I was doing these

I was brainstorming in the past, but then I forgot to think about it

But I was in the shower and had a great idea!

Veronica was doing her usual morning jog. It was 6:45 AM and the sun was just starting to light up the city streets. She had her favorite song playing in her ear buds and just about to reach her apartment.

As she reached the front of her building, she noticed something in the alleyway nearby. It was red and and just laying there next to some trash cans. Curious on what it may be, she walked up to it, only to be horrified at the sight.

She quickly called the police to report this.

You walk up to the man ahead of you with a wide smile. "Hey! Jerry," you exclaim. He sighs.

"We've worked together for five years," he states. "Why can't you remember it's Isaac?"

You shrug. "I was close, at least," you say. "Anyways, who's the victim?"

"Not a clue," Isaac replies. "It's so gruesome that we can't get any matches on facial recognition."

"Hm…" you hum. "Can I see the body?"

"Yeah, this way," he says, leading you to an alleyway. "We haven't moved it. This is how they were found."

You look down at the body and immediately feel revolted. Only the face was attacked, but it is awful! Red stuff is everywhere and there's a deep dent right in the center of their face. If this face was pretty it definitely ain't anymore.

"Do we have a suspect," you ask, crouching down to get a closer look.

"We're still trying to narrow it down to a specific Pokémon," Isaac tells you.

"How do you know it wasn't a human," you inquire, still observing the body.

"Based on what we see this only took one hit," he informs you. "No human can deliver a single blow like this."

You nod along. As you look closer at the dent in the face, you notice the outline of a fist in it. "Hey, Jarold?"

"Isaac."

"Agree to disagree. What Pokémon live in this area and know a powerful punch attack?"

Isaac looks at his information. "Um... There's a Grimmsnarl at that apartment," he points at a building to y'all's left, "Machamp in that one," points to y'all's right, "and Scrafty over there," points behind y'all.

You nod. "And we have nothing about our victim," you ask.

"Well, we have some things. Just not much," Isaac informs you. "They were carrying a bag with them. They had their wallet and keys. The wallet only had money and the keys unlock the house next to Grimmsnarl's. We're waiting to hear what is in their room."

You nod along, standing up. You're close to solving this. "Yes, that's good. One last question. Would there be any reason for any of the three Pokémon to come here? Besides the fact Grimmsnarl living is next to her."

"Not really for Scrafty," Isaac tells you, flipping through notes. "However, there's been many reports of Grimmsnarl and Machamp going to each other's house just to start a fight. At least twice a week."

That's all you needed to hear. "Jeremiah," you say proudly. "I know who did this!"

"I'd correct you, but I'm more curious on your answer," he replies. "Who did it?"

"Obviously y'all will have to do your science to confirm this, but I am almost 100% confident that the culprit was..."

Who?

Was it Grimmsnarl or Machamp? Did our victim get between them or find themself at the wrong place at the wrong time and this was the consequence?

Or was it Scrafty? No reason to suspect it, but that's exactly why it's the perfect suspect.
