Man... 30 years of Pokemon (Announcement)
In 1996 on February 20th, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue released in Japan. And everyone since, we've gotten sequels, remakes, and films. And now, the 30th year of Pokemon has begun. And ive been thinking. What could we do to celebrate the phenomenon? So today I announce, the Candy's Challanges!
Candy's Challanges are going to be hosted by yours truly and they will occur one month, and the event will last a week. Ill be trading shinies, hosting tournaments, and most things pokemon you could imagine surrounding pokemon. Each month will have a theme. And it will be a variable in the pokemon you can use for the events! Ill list the themes down bellow
January: All Icy is Blue! (Blue pokemon Only)
February: 151 Memories! (Only Kanto Pokemon. Variants will be included*)
March: Springs Of Life! (Only Grass, Fairy, and Water Pokemon will be used**)
April: We Love our Planet (Grass, Fire, Water, Ground, Poison, Ice, and Electric Types will be used)
May: Leafy Greens! (Only Green Pokemon Will be used)
June: Vibrant Volumes! (Fill Each pokemon in your party with the color of the rainbow!***)
July: Endless Summer! (Summer themed pokemon will be used. A list will be made later)
August: A Poke Buffet! (Only Food Pokemon will be used)
September: Trainers of Glory (Only use the teams of other trainers)
October: Ghosts and Ghouls! (Only use the list of scary pokemon ill make!)
November: The Feel of Fall! (Only use orange and brown pokemon!)
December: Cozy Holiday! (Use a list of holiday pokemon ill make!)
*Wigglet, Wugtrio, Toedscool and Toedscruel will not be included
**Secondary Types are fine. It just has to have at least one of the types
***You may switch your pokemon around in the party. You have to have one pokemon of each color in your party.

Mind if I participate with my old Yellow version or does it have to be on SV? For January, mono color or Blue huh. Hmm Nidoqueen ftw? Doesn’t make sense that Oddish and Gloom are Blue but Vileplume is red… As for SV, my team would potentially be Alolan Ninetales(I’ll purposely trade over a baby for it with a stone to evolve it since Alolan Vulpix is in the white category and will use an intermediary since I’m too lazy to create a HOME account), Quaquaval, Garchomp, Luxray, Hydreigon and Toxicroak.
February is easy for me. Pokémon Yellow ftw. SV will be harder but I’ll do Arcanine, Gyarados, Magnezone(evolved form of Magneton so should count), Gengar, Dragonite and Alolan Ninetales.

Then I’ll purposely do Yellow version. I spent a ton of time on Scarlet to 100% and I’d rather redo Yellow than create a user profile on the Switch for the sole purpose of replaying the game. Plus Yellow isn’t all that hard if you have played it as much as I have. I’ll have to think of a Mono-Blue team for January but realistically you only need two to three to dominate in quick fashion. Get to level 65+ and it’ll be a cakewalk and especially if you make Blue take Flareon or the weakest link of the Eevee line. March will be a problem on Yellow because Grass and Water types aren’t available until I beat Brock and gain access to Route 3 and Mount Moon where I get Paras(who’s criminally underrated) and Magikarp(once it evolves it dominates). Fairy doesn’t exist so can I get a replacement Type like Bug for pre Gen 6 or am I out of luck? For June, do we need 10 Pokémon to have each color represented or can we get to our team of six but each one is a different color? August might be hard on Yellow version. I got mushrooms(Paras), Koi or Karp(Magikarp) and what else in the Kanto Dex is “food”? Cloyster for oysters? Hmm Kingler would work with Crab but it’s sooooo bad in Gen 1 ugh. Not many options on the Kanto Dex. September is easy… Blue’s Yellow team is actually pretty good… I’ll take his Vaporeon team that players don’t often face that has Ninetales, Magneton, Sandslash, Alakazam(I’ll do Kadabra and still get 90% of it) and Exeggutor. October might be hard with just 1 Ghost type. Curious what the list is. Last two months shouldn’t be too hard, but I’ll know more when we get there.
