Should we do Pokémon D&D?

Mage Armor can be cast on myself or another player. It'll be useful for you because the spell says the following:
You touch a willing creature who isn't wearing armor, and a protective magical force surrounds it until the spell ends. The target's base AC becomes 13 + its Dexterity modifier. The spell ends if the target dons armor or if you dismiss the spell as an action.
That means if you go w/o Armor for the mobility, I can still give you some protection or apply it to another member of the team. Applying it to myself is an option too and I can stack it with Shield to really make myself Tanky for a limited time if I come under attack. I'm also opting to swap out Absorb Elements for Detect Magic because it's a notable tool for intelligence gathering. My character is one who thinks before she acts and would rather slip by undetected than have to fight.
Another reason I chose it was due to this I found online:
At a core level, Detect Magic is a great spell for pointing out possible dangers. Instead of always wondering what kind of powerful sorcery is lurking around the corner, it is a handy way to at least get a warning of what is to come.
For treasure hunters, the Detect Magic spell is often used as a way to find an item they are looking for. Any kind of magic item, from magic robes to enchanted swords, will glow with some kind of magic while you are using this spell.
For Dungeon Masters, the spell can be used in an entirely different context, often as foreshadowing or hinting at the party's solution to a puzzle.
For example, a room with various symbols on the wall may have one planted with a glyph that, when touched, will open a secret door. This would normally be concealed from most players unless a keen eye with Detect Magic can spot it.
TLDR: It helps avoid falling into nasty magical traps and can help find secret passages that would normally be concealed to the likes of Monks, Rogues and other classes.
