I designed an entire Midna & Wolf Link moveset for smash once

YOU DARE NOT KNOW WHO MIDNA IS?! Only the greatest Legend of Zelda character of all time!!! I could give you a whole lecture on this. Google probably wouldn't. But I bet my lecture would be funnier.

Right you're just asking for this one I can go on about how awesome Midna is longer than I can rant about TotK and that is saying something.
First, Wolf Link is Link as a wolf. Black and white, cool symbol on his forehead.
Midna is the princess of a world called the Twilight Realm. The Twilight Realm exists mainly as a trash heap for the Light World, Hyrule. Not long after Hyrule was formed, a group of people using dark magic appeared. The King used the Mirror of Twilight to send them to the Twilight Realm as punishment for having these powers. The magicians adapted and became an entire new race of people, called the Twili. Midna was princess of this realm, a tall, beautiful girl, until her father died. Then Zant, another Twili, cursed her and turned her into an imp-like form, draining her magic. However, he overlooked a Fused Shadow, which Midna began to use as a crown, which allowed her to still use magic. Zant also turned the other Twili into monsters called Shadow Beasts by corrupting their bodies. Midna, as with other Twili, cannot survive in the Light because they're attuned to Shadow. So she hitches a ride with Link, using him as a tool to collect the Fused Shadows to recreate an artifact that contains her ancestor's magic.
Three reasons why she's the best Zelda companion ever:
1. She has a real personality
She's sassy, gets emotional but tries to hide it, and when she can't figure something out she pins it on Link. Under her external layer for deflection, sass, and occasional cruelty, there's a girl who can't let her people be abused or wiped out. And a girl who loves Link.
2. She had a BACKSTORY
Most of the Zelda companions seem to not have much behind who they really are. Say Tulin from TotK. Cute kid. But he really acts up sometimes, kinda acts like he thinks he can be older than he really is. Why? …no answer given. However, Midna, I can answer that 'why' question. She's an imp because she's cursed. She's angry because her world is being destroyed. She's sassy to deflect emotions.
3. She had actual moments that made me cry
I won't try to spoil TOO many scenes, but constantly wanted to help her. I felt for her. I wanted to save this world that she was ruler of. I wanted to take her place when she chose what she needed to do. I wanted to follow her into the Twilight Realm. Repeated. Heartbreak. But also repeated moments where I laughed aloud, or wished I could talk to her.
