Pokémon Go Crashing when trying to Play! with Buddy Pokémon

App Version 0.303.0-G-64
Every time I go to feed my Buddy Pokemon the App crashes shortly after the make sure you are in a safe environment pop up.
I can do quick treats, But my Buddy is now high enough friendship that they find gifts. So I need to use the full Play! function to get my gift.

same thing happened to me. I need to have my buddy pokemon interacting with me asap.
