first Pokémon id give him….. cyndaquil! It starts off as a really weak Pokémon but as it matures becomes a powerful and cool and confident pokemon

Link starts out with nothing but he gains courage and confidence along the way and becomes a legendary hero
Cybdaquil starts off as a pathetic weak Pokémon but after evolving becomes powerful and really cool
See any similarities between the two?
Cyndaquil to me is just a good fit for link, compared to the other starters
Sure you could say Treecko is a better fit but it’s more confident at the start, not exactly the character of link
