(Spoiler Alert) Thoughts on Mochi Madness

I just finished the epilogue last night and at first, thankfully it explains some plot holes from the main game. Sorry if this is a little long.

Firstly, it explains the origin of the Loyal Three. Although this is not directly stated, it seems the Pecharunt created the trio. When you use Ogerpon or a member of the Loyal Three in battle against Pecharunt, there are different reactions depending on the exact Pokemon you use. In addition, the Toxic Chains on the Loyal Three's design resemble Pecharunt's mochi, implying that it gave power to them in exchange for their fealty.

Secondly, it also gives a little bit of insight into how the Loyal Three were revived. It seems that when Kieran punched the Loyal Three statue, his fist faintly glowed purple. This could have meant that Pecharunt was indirectly using its power to heal its servants. I don't know why exactly that Kieran happened to be the reason that the Pokemon that he hated came back to life, but it's the best that I can think of.

Now that I've gotten through the epilogue, I have two questions. One, why did the Mythical Pecha Berry awaken Pecharunt? And two, why did a random shopkeeper have Pecharunt? I'd like to hear what everyone else thinks.

I have no idea. None of it made any sense. I felt like I'd been dropped into the last arc of Tsuritama, what with the mind control and the dancing and the quaint Japanese village. And I love Tsuritama but it was a VERY ill-suited tone to the rest of the game.

The Pokemon Company released a video that explain Pecharunt's backstory. Now we can assume that the Mythical Pecha Berry awoke Pecharunt because it was a gift from its trainers. We can also guess that it wound up at Peachey's because it was thought to be an ordinary decoration. Finally, we also know that Kieran's punch may have awoken the Loyal Three by causing Pecharunt to subconsciously react and bring its companions back to life (this one is a bit of a stretch but its still the best I can think of).
