Server error workaround or just lucky timing.

I kept getting the server error for last 12 or so hours including again moments ago. But then I went into my avatar, changed hairstyles and hats and all of a sudden I could play online again against opponents. Either. I got lucky and they fixed the problem right then or I found a way to get past this server issue for now
