About the Erika situation in the Pokemon anime?

So, does anyone remember Ash's Gym Battle with Erika in the Pokemon anime? The one where he gets kicked out due to insulting the perfume?

As much as Ash is at fault, I think the manager acted very unprofessional there- both banning him from the shop as well as the gym. He's 10. Most young boys are inclined to insult things they consider "girly" (can't speak for everyone, of course). And given that he's as old as most Trainers are when they start, you're telling me she didn't have a SINGLE other Trainer who acted the way he does? Do they ALL get banned?

Plenty of trainers being kicked out just because they don’t think that the perfume smells good is one thing, but just Ash is another. Like, how crazy is that?!?

@jbryaniii And Erika herself wasn't even on-board with her manager's decision to keep Ash out of the Gym. Makes you think she should fire the manager.
