Pokemon Card Game deck structure hint

Hello,

I'd like to ask whether it is better to have different kinds of pokemon in one's deck or eventually to build a one-type pokemon deck.

Thanks for recommending

Now in Standatd most of top decks use different Pokémon types, for multiple reasons, it can be to counter something, or a good draw Pokémon that fits in many decks like Radiant Greninja, Bibarel... or the deck really requires multiple types to function like Regis decks or Mew VMax Genesct, or Manaphy bench protection, or to avoid having a single type weakness, etc.

It also depends on the meta, there were times where some single type decks dominated the meta like Eternatus VMax for some time, and many other examples... In current Standard meta tho basiclly "none" of the top 10 decks are single type. Of course there varations that are still ok decks like Gardevoir ex single type, Miraidon ex, etc.

The main point is that there are always good Pokémon (to draw cards, energy acelaration, disruption, bench protection, counter attackers, etc.) that fit and make many decks better so usually you benefit from not strict to a specific single type in general, but there are always exceptions.

Usually, decks stick to either one or two energy types. The choice however is entirely up to the deck builder and their personality which is why deck building is a rewarding experience.
