You're writing a story! Who's the most likely candidate for main character?

I'm thinking of doing that now... but I have the Champion battle to write, and then I need to get back to Pokémon Ruin, so it probably won't happen anytime soon.

I have a few stories im working on so ill just give one that im working on.
One thing I don't like in a story is just one main character. Kinda like stranger things, I like to give everyone the spotlight. But if I had to choose one main character, i know who it is (Side note: please dont take my character! I work hard on my stories and I want to keep my story fresh without it seeming like I took any characters from you guys and vice versa.)
Im just gonna call them L (not his real name, its just his name kinda gives away who/what he is). L is an energetic kid. He grew up in a neglecting household so he never really got the attention he needed. He just kept to himself. He eventually got to the point on asking what his purpose is. One day military generals walked up to the door and asked for all the men in the household to join their army.
L couldn't take it anymore so he jumped out the window and ran. He didn't know what to do so he just kept running. Eventually he found a stronghold. A temple. He ran inside to catch a breath but he found an ancient artifact. He didn't know what it was so he touched it. It made a sparkle. He grabbed it with both hands but what he didn't know was that it was a peice from a being of pure energy. He tried to run away but it latched on to him. Its sparks lashed him and gave him scars on his skin. Eventually it opened a portal to a new planet. It sucked him inside never to return home again
That's all I really want to give away from here. This is one of the first times I've ever really revealed my story to anyone outside of some of my irl friends so I hope you like!
