Chapter 26:

Shiroboshi and Siege had taken positions to begin the battle as Siege said, “Ready?” “Not really,” Shiroboshi said, “But sure.” “Good,” Siege replied, “Let’s begin. Go Metagross!” “Go, Tyranitar!” Shiroboshi countered, “Pretty even matchup. Let’s change that! Tyranitar, use Brutal Swing!” “Dodge it!” Siege shouted, just a moment too late, with the attack’s quick connection knocking out his Pokémon. “Argh,” Siege said, “Fine, um, go, Primarina!” “Predictable,” Shiroboshi said absentmindedly, “Come back Tyranitar. Go, Venusaur!” “Good choice,” Siege said, “Primarina, use Blizzard!” “Protect,” Shiroboshi said simply.

Siege was ready to command another Blizzard, when Shiroboshi said, “Venusaur, use Sleep Powder.” Siege started to command Primarina, when the attack landed and Shiroboshi continued, “Bullet Seed, then follow up with Vine Whip.” The subsequent attacks, all landing quickly knocked Primarina out, shocking Siege. “I told you,” Shiroboshi said, “I don’t want to tell Izzy. At least, not yet.” Siege withdrew Primarina and said, “Alright. Go, Metalleon!” “Come back Venusaur,” Shiroboshi said, “Go, Armourouge.”

“Armourouge, use Armor Cannon!” Shiroboshi said. “Dodge it!” Siege shouted, initiating a successful doge, followed by, “Use Dig!” Shiroboshi, feeling confident said, “Your down by three and I know you’re not going to use Pikachu.” “You’re right,” Siege said, “You should look out.” “No need,” Shiroboshi said, as Armourouge quickly avoided the attack, followed by the command, “Use another Armor Cannon, point blank range.” The attack, landing successfully this time knocked out Metalleon, with Siege saying, “Fine, Metalleon, come back! Go, Machamp!”

Siege was watching Shiroboshi intently, when he said, “Armourouge, Psychic.” “Dodge it,” Siege commanded, “Then use, Brutal Swing!” Machamp dodged the attack and then went in for a Brutal Swing, which Shiroboshi countered with, “Finish it, use Psyshock!” Armourouge easily avoided the attack, then finishing the battle with its attack. “Good one,” Siege said, “You win.” “Why thank you,” Shiroboshi replied. “So, when DO I get to tell them?” Siege asked. “Never,” Shiroboshi said, “I’m going to eventually.” The two friends then walked off into the distance, chatting the entire time.
