Pokemon Legends: Lamonica chapter twelve

Chapter 12:

Shiroboshi and Izzy entered the challenge part of the building, admiring it all. “Are you ready?” Shiroboshi asked. “Oh yeah,” Izzy said. As they are walking forward, two trainers on the side say, “You think you can walk right by us? Battle time!” Shiroboshi and Izzy, both send out their Gardevoir, perfectly synced for the battle, while the opponents send out an Onix each. “Use Dazzling Gleam,” they say in sync, their Pokémon quickly disposing of the Onix. “Is that all you’ve got?” Shiroboshi asks as they run away. They continue on, reaching a metal platform that they hop on. The metal platform takes them to a second floor where two trainers immediately spot them and challenge them. As the two trainers send out Steelix’s Shiroboshi and Izzy say, “Go, Ceruledge. Use Bitter Blade!” after quickly disposing of their opponents, they continue on.

Shiroboshi is ready to fight a real challenge, when two more trainers come up behind him and Izzy. Quickly turning around, he and Izzy send out their Ceruledge’s against a Steelix and a Magneton. “Ceruledge, use Flaring Burn,” Shiroboshi instructs, as Izzy instructs, “Use Bitter Blade!” As the opposing trainers return their Pokémon, Shiroboshi grins. The opposing trainers then send out a Skarmory and a Steelix. “Ceruledge, use Bitter Blade,” Shiroboshi and Izzy say in perfect sync. After passing the two trainers, they find another lift, which they take to a third floor. On the third floor, the friends find two trainers that they quickly dispose of, heading to the fourth floor.

On the fourth floor, they find Byron waiting, “About time. I thought you and you’re girlfriend would get here faster.” “She’s not my girlfriend!” SHiroboshi quickly shouted, as Izzy’s face turned red. “alright, alright,” Byron said, “I’m just kidding. Now it’s time for our battle. What do you think of a double battle?” “Yes,” Shiroboshi and Izzy say, once again in sync. Byron laughed and sent out a Steelix and Magnezone. Shiroboshi sent out his Armourouge, while Izzy sent out her Ceruledge. “You two seem to be meant for each other,” Byron laughed out, “Using the two evolutions of Charcadet!” As he said this, Shiroboshi said, “Armourouge, use Burning Armor Cannon!” Meanwhile, Izzy said, “Bitter Blade!” Magneton managed to dodge Ceruledge’s Bitter Blade, but she wasn’t done yet, going in for a second attack and succeeding this time. Armourouge quickly disposed neatly of Steelix, with one attack.

“You’re good, both of you,” Byron said, “But it won’t be enough!” As he said this, Byron sent out a Bastiodon and an Excadrill. With a smile, Byron said, “Excadrill, mega evolve! Use Drill Run and Bastiodon, use Earthquake!” While Ceruledge managed to avoid the Drill Run, Armourouge was unsuccessful in avoiding the Earthquake. Shiroboshi returned Armourouge, saying, “Come back Armourouge. Go, Tyranitar!” “Ceruledge, use Bitter Blade!” Izzy said, directing Ceruledge at Excadrill while Shiroboshi said, “Tyranitar, use Earthquake!” Tyranitar targeted Bastiodon, with neither opposing Pokemon managing to avoid the incoming attacks, both fainting. “Well, you beat me,” Byron said, handing them both the Mine Badge, “Good job.” As they left the gym, Izzy asked Shiroboshi, “Why did you pick me to come in with you?” Shiroboshi replied, “Um, let’s just get back to the others.”

Izzy may have still been confused about why Shiroboshi had chosen her, but instead of dwelling on it, she decided it must have been because he thought she was good at fighting with him. That couldn’t have been it though, they were always fighting each other, but their minds did think alike, how else would they be son in sync? “How’d it go?” Quom asked. “We won easily,” Shiroboshi and Izzy said, in sync. Quom laughed, “Maybe Byron was right.” “About what?” Izzy and Shiroboshi said, once again in sync. “Oh nothing,” Quom said innocently, “Anyways, let’s get going. Snowpoint City next.” So, off the trainers went, all along Izzy wondering what Quom had meant back there.
