Generally, going against decks that have any combination of control, stall, or mill is as annoying as it goes.

A well known hated deck was S&M Pidgeotto Control, which was actually really close to winning the 2019 World Championship.

The worst deck I’ve ever been against is mega lucario

It needs little to 1 energy to wipe out your entire team it’s a stage one so if you go first you play the riolu and next turn attach energy and evolve it

Aura Jab sucks 1 energy to do 130 damage and get three energy from your discard pile

Really, the RNG is the worst part of playing the live game. It is VERY clearly skewed towards players using the meta. I watch all the time as players with the mega evolutions, the alakazam, the slowbro, the dragapult, the festival, etc. etc. are just constantly getting EXACTLY the cards they need. Meanwhile, my non-meta deck is giving me 3 stretchers, a basic that needs 4 energy to attack, and stage 1&2 evolutions in my starting hand and then I get nothing but single energies and unhelpful trainer cards and even when they could help, they can't access anything that i would be able to use.

I don't think the OP is even talking about TCG Live. If you see the tags... I assumed it was about TCG irl.

I'm still getting the hang of navigating these forums. My current only frame of reference in regards to deck builds and their capabilities is from the live game. I am curious about trying out in person gameplay but I am hesitant, even though I know the skewed RNG and real life randomness are two different things.
