Spectating

TCG Live really needs a spectate feature for friends. It’s kind of a bummer that I can’t watch my friends matches while I’m waiting for my turn or just chilling. Pls add this soon it would be a really good feature for a lot of people not just me.

A "spectate" feature has been mentioned several times... however, for it to be fair and not too invasive, it would have to be optional (meaning both players would need to agree before the match starts) and include an option to hide your hand cards.

To me, that would be great for Limitless tournaments (with the hidden hand). It would allow us to watch battles while waiting for the next match, as well as watch the finals, and so on.

That said, unfortunately I think it's too much for them, I don't believe these devs are able to implement such a feature... but who really knows, doesn't hurt to keep asking for it.

It's easy to make spectating on apps like this non-invasive. I understand that the card game as a whole is has a huge community, and that people wouldn't want their games to be able to be viewed by spectators. But at the end of the day, this is a computer game / phone app, where it is incredibly easy to make this be able to be spectated. I hate to reference it, but think of Clash Royale. When spectating you see basically the exact screen that the person YOU clicked to spectate on has. In this case, if you turned spectating for your matches on (it being a box to click if you want it be a feature for you), the spectator would only see what you see. The cards in the hand of the person you chose to spectate, and what they search for, and can only see what their opponent has chosen to reveal. I believe that if integrated this way it would be an easy way for people to enjoy the feature, and be able to toggle it off if it makes them uncomfortable.

Sure, that's what I meant to say... it would be a great feature as long as it's optional.

But "easy to make"... come on, it's TCG Live we're talking about here… it took them 2 years to add a mute button (a feature requested by virtually every player).

There are many other examples of simple things that they usually take forever to implement.

As long as Spectators aren't able to see the cards in the players hands, I think it would be pretty good to spectate some ranked matches it would be another great way to learn from others.
