I'm not overconfident. I'm simply excited. I'm aware that it won't necessarily become official. I haven't stated a single time that it would. I say "if" instead of "when", despite others suggesting that it may limit my thinking.

I thinking about this rationally and am simply enjoying the process of using my skills to create something, with a little dash of hope that maybe it'll become an official game.

My confidence isn't exactly the highest, and reminders of potential failure when I've barely started, and you haven't seen my ideas yet. It's not exactly the most motivational thing.

I understand you're trying to look out for me, but I know what I'm doing and what to expect. I do thank you for your concerns, but I promise, I'm nowhere near overconfident...

I said I was excited for something. I was being really overconfident. Looking back I call that piece of work trash and wonder why I ever had ambitions for it. Its a finer line than you think…

The thing is, I'm a perfectionist with my projects. I don't get overconfident, I rarely ever get confidence.

As an aspiring writer, I've understood that sometimes a project rolls out surprisingly well, while others have a bumpy start and rough patches. I'm not overconfident. I have experience and know my limits. I'm not great with geography but that doesn't mean I can't create a fictional world.

As for my wording, I apologize if it came off as harsh, as it was not my intent. I've been warned and even told that I likely wouldn't succeed, since I started my journey to become a writer. So, I may get defensive even if you meant it in a supportive.

Excitement and confidence are not the same thing. They can exist at the same time, but have entirely different meanings.

Excitement and over confidence can share a trait, such as a rushed project, but they still differ, vastly.

Yes, they are not the same thing, but that's not what I was saying. I only meant that the line can be blurred. I don't need to hear you reassure me you are not overconfident, I am only warning you of two things: a) something that felt like a great idea one year can feel like trash the next, and b) the line between 'excitement' and 'overconfident' is blurred. I personally have experienced this where I would be very excited writing something and have very high hopes but play this off as not really expecting it. In hindsight, I was kind of expecting it and it made me quite disappointed in a way to realize that what I had made was in fact not as much as I thought. But then again I do have a weird hubris in myself.
