New Rule: All-Star Draft Pick Arrives!

The new All-Star Draft rule has been added to the custom rules in Tournament Mode!

What is All-Star Draft Pick?

All-Star Draft Pick is a special rule for Best-of-3 or Best-of-5 Unite Battles where any Pokémon that has stepped onto the stadium can no longer participate in subsequent matches, stepping back to cheer on their allies instead. Regardless of which team used them, all 10 Pokémon that gave their all in a match will automatically become unselectable for the rest of the series. This rule requires trusting in a wide variety of Pokémon to secure victory, rather than relying on a select few. The bonds formed through training with various Pokémon will truly shine here, giving every Pokémon the chance to be the star of the show. In All-Star Draft, your ace partner can only be chosen once per series. Will you save them for a crucial moment, or pick them early before the opposing team does? Enjoy the deep strategy of drafting diverse team compositions by fully understanding the unique strengths of each Pokémon.

Setup and Details

How to Apply:

Select a Draft Mode map from Tournament Mode, and turn ON All-Star Draft in the Custom Rules menu.

Auto-Ban Feature:

The 10 Pokémon used in a match cannot be selected by either team during both the Ban and Pick phases of subsequent matches. Example: At the start of Game 3, the 20 Pokémon used in Games 1 and 2, plus the 6 Pokémon newly banned for Game 3, will result in 26 unselectable Pokémon.

Editing the Ban List:

The lobby host has the ability to manually edit and manage the ban list. How to Edit: After saving and closing the Custom Rules menu once, reopen it and click the pen icon that appears to make manual adjustments.

Experience System Adjustment

The range for gaining EXP when assisting in a wild Pokémon KO was too narrow, often resulting in long-range attackers missing out on EXP despite contributing to the KO. To resolve this, the EXP sharing radius from a knocked-out wild Pokémon has been buffed from 6m to 7m.

UNITE_Patch_RevivalStars_UpsDowns.png

Changes have been made to some Pokémon stats and moves to adjust the balance of Unite Battles.

Azumarill

Whirlpool

  • Healing amount: 12% Increase

Play Rough

  • Damage: 8% Increase

Unite Move: Belly Bash

  • Attack increase amount: 20% Increase
  • Attack increase duration: 5s → 8s

Azumarill has not seen adjustments in a while. To help it perform better in Unite Battles, its move healing, damage, and the self-buffs from its Unite Move have been buffed.

Alolan Ninetales

Avalanche

  • Cooldown: 7.5s → 7s
  • Damage: 10% Increase

Blizzard

  • Cooldown: 7.5s → 7s

Dazzling Gleam

  • Cooldown: 7.5s → 7s
  • Damage: 10% Increase

Aurora Veil

  • Cooldown: 13s → 12s

Unite Move: Snow Globe

  • Damage: 8% Increase

Alolan Ninetales has struggled with exceptionally low damage output compared to other Attackers for a long time. Its moves have been buffed to make it easier to deal consistent damage throughout the match.

Zeraora

Volt Switch

  • Cooldown: 8s → 7s
  • Damage: 12% Increase

Wild Charge

  • Damage: 8% Increase

Unite Move: Plasma Gale

  • Unite Gauge energy required: 100,000 → 90,000

To allow Zeraora to fully utilize its traits as a Speedster capable of quickly taking down the opposing team's backline, its move damage has been buffed and its Unite Move energy requirement has been lowered for more frequent use.

Snorlax

Block

  • Cooldown: 8s → 7.5s

Yawn

  • Cooldown: 10.5s → 10s

Unite Move: Power Nap

  • First knock-up duration: 0.6s → 1s
  • Second knock-up duration (when rolling over): 0.6s → 1s

Snorlax's crowd control abilities have been buffed by reducing their cooldowns and increasing the disruption time of its Unite Move, making it easier to lock down opponents and set up plays for allies.

Espeon

Psybeam

  • Cooldown: 7.5s → 7s Damage: 10% Increase

Future Sight

  • Additional damage on follow-up: 8% Increase

Unite Move: Psychic Soleil

  • Damage: 5% Increase

As an Attacker with low mobility that struggles to maintain distance, Espeon has not been dealing enough damage for the risk. Its move damage has been buffed across to help it make a bigger impact from the mid-to-late game.

Clefable

Heal Pulse

  • Healing amount: 15% Increase

Moonlight

  • Cooldown: 8.5s → 8s

Unite Move: Wonder Wish

  • HP Recovery: 25% of missing HP → 30% of missing HP

To improve Clefable's early-game support capabilities, Heal Pulse's healing has been buffed. Additionally, the cooldown of Moonlight has been lowered and the healing of its Unite Move has been buffed, allowing it to survive and support allies more effectively in the late game.

Zoroark

Shadow Claw

  • Damage: 10% Increase

Night Slash

  • Damage from the leaping attack: 20% Increase
  • Healing from the leaping attack: 20% Increase

Unite Move: Nightfall Daze

  • Unite Gauge energy required: 90,000 → 80,000 (10% Decrease)

The damage and healing from the leaping attack of Night Slash did not match the difficulty of executing the move. These have been buffed. Additionally, Shadow Claw's damage has been buffed and its Unite Move energy requirement lowered, reducing the likelihood of Zoroark jumping into the enemy team, failing to secure a KO, and being knocked out in return.

Greninja

Basic Attack

  • Adjustment: When landing basic attacks (including boosted attacks) on wild Pokémon at close range, the damage cap previously applied to the total basic attack damage. This has been changed so the damage cap now applies specifically to the additional damage based on the target's remaining HP.

Surf

  • Damage: 10% Decrease
  • Healing amount: 8% Decrease

Double Team

  • Illusion damage: 20.5% of Greninja's damage → 15%

Following previous durability buffs, Greninja was able to secure knockouts with Surf too consistently, leading to an overly high win rate. To balance it against other Pokémon, the damage and healing of Surf, as well as the damage of Double Team, have been nerfed.

Blastoise

Hydro Pump

  • Cooldown: 5.5s → 6s
  • Damage: 8% Decrease

Surf

  • Cooldown: 7s → 7.5s

Blastoise maintained a very high win rate due to its long-lasting crowd control and high damage output, which allowed it to win damage trades too frequently. Its move cooldowns and damage have been nerfed to bring it back in line.

Ceruledge

Bitter Blade

  • Damage: 5% Decrease

Phantom Force+

  • Cooldown: 7s → 8s

The upgraded cooldown for Phantom Force was too short considering the powerful invulnerability it provides, so the cooldown has been nerfed. Additionally, the previous damage buff to Bitter Blade increased its healing too much, making Ceruledge stronger than intended. Its damage has been nerfed slightly to balance this out.

Psyduck

Confusion

  • Cooldown: 6.5s → 7s
  • Hitbox duration: 0.45s → 0.33s

The hitbox for Confusion occasionally lingered and hit opponents even after the move's visual effects disappeared. The hitbox duration has been nerfed to match the visual effects.

Mega Charizard X

Ability: Solar Power

  • HP Recovery when landing a basic attack on a burned opposing Pokémon: 3% of missing HP → 2%

Ability: Tough Claws

  • HP Recovery when landing a basic attack on a burned opposing Pokémon: 6% of missing HP → 4%

Mega Charizard X's healing capabilities while Mega Evolved were too high, making it extremely difficult to knock out even when focused by multiple opponents. To balance this against its massive offensive power, its healing has been nerfed.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Zapdos could instantly score twice on a broken goal using its Unite Move.
  • Fixed an issue on the Nintendo Switch version where selecting Move Set 2 in the Draft Mode prep screen prevented Zapdos from learning Thunderbolt and Zap Cannon.
  • Fixed an issue where the pause in movement during evolution was shorter for Empoleon, Vaporeon, and Sirfetch'd compared to other Pokémon.
  • Fixed an issue where Machamp's Submission did not trigger the effect of Resonant Guard upon hitting an opposing Pokémon.
  • Fixed an issue where Metagross's Zen Headbutt failed to deal damage or knockback when hitting an opposing Pokémon through a thick wall.
  • Fixed an issue where Zacian's Unite Move, Sovereign Sword, allowed the aiming direction to be manually selected.
