Its fun at first but then it becomes a im better than you situation and I think keeping people at equal power makes the forums a place of fairness.
Its also unfair with having only a select few people running for president leaving others pestering the host begging for a spot for them.
The president's also have unattainable goals begging for flags to be removed, and Gen 3 pfps. But if we get the Gen 3 pics then people are gonna be begging for sinnoh pics creating a cycle.
Also not to mention the pokemon people choose. I had fuecoco and clodsire in my event but snow and obsidian had the cool vote. Telling people they cant use the pokemon they cherish tells them that they cant present themselves for who they are on the forums.
So I have my reasons. You can make a fun event for people to point fingers at eachother, or you could have no systems of power keeping the forums stable.

Hmmmmmm..... valid points.
Side note... There is one system of power in definite play here at the forums... the mods and the way posts get approved is the power system which is beyond our control unless you count the points/flags/reporting system which is more of a self-regulating (as in we have the power to promote or keep each other inline by emojing or not, and by flagging) and suggesting to look at/review thing (flagging).
(No, I'm not suggesting we use flags unless it is truly a flaggable offense and the reasons why it was flagged should be explained via the reporting flag, not the "spam" or "abuse" flags that they don't listen too)
