In smoke and flames: the story of BSD

I never wanted to make this, yet here I am making this. I tried to avoid this, but it inevitably came back to haunt me. This is the story of why you never got to see what I could truly do.

I made a PMD fanfiction called Smoke and Flame. It took several hours and a lot of determination, but it was worth it. I published it on Scratch, but the formatting was awful as Scratch is not meant for writers. I'm planning to make the formatting a little better, but it will never meet good standards. Also, most of the Scratch community is not into Pokemon, especially not PMD, and so I basically had zero audience outside of Blaze (a fellow writer) and Greenboi (A memeber of the Bloxels community who happened to stumble across it). But then I joined these forums. The formatting is great, and the community has a high chance of viewing it. So I published it. Or so I tried, before being screwed by the mods. Maybe it was the fact that I only put the trigger warnings in the prologue and the other chapters only had a message saying read the prologue first. So I tried again, this time with a link to the Scratch project and a whole paragraph of trigger warnings. To my absolute shock (yes this is sarcasm, I've faced hellish moderation before on other platforms), it was denied yet again. So I try again, this time with basically all the warnings you could need, and with some more violent words in the warnings partially censored. And yet, with all that effort, the mods still denied it. I gave up. I just wanted to share my work, and instead I got a faceful of moderation issues. I write darker things. But there's nothing wrong with that if I warn people first. Why did this happen.

And this is the story of why you never got to see Smoke and Flame published here. Hopefully one day I can get it published. And hopefully this post makes it through moderation. It would be a shame for 15 minutes of writing to go down the drain. Not that they care.

Notes:

I in no way dislike the moderators. I just think what they did was wrong. Please don't go spreading hate, hate is never a good thing.

After trying to post Smoke and Flame, I tried making a post about the situation of Falinks in UNITE and how they need to do something about it, but that too got denied. Twice. But to sum it up, I was ranting/desperately crying about how Latios (a 4th year mon) got a whole frickin battle pass before Falinks (a third year mon) even got a single skin or buff despite being the worst and most forgotten Pokemon in the game.

I don't want to leave these forums. I just hope I don't have to.

Smoke and Flame contained zero swear words. If it did, I'd understand the mods' decision.

I would like to see it (I love pmd fanfic I literally have a tab set on my computer of pmd fan comics that I read) I know the system can be stingy some times in my Pokémon mystery dungeon dnd group there is a player who keeps getting plagued by the approval system and some of their comments sent through the approval system appear hours after the session ends

I tried sending the link, but the mods wouldn't let me. However, the link is still somewhere in my profile.

Well, one time one story did slip through that was pretty dark. It was nothing most teenage ish people couldn't handle, but it was removed after only a day. So too dark of stuff won't make it through here. Sorry.
I do feel you on several hours of work only to have something go wrong. I've spent almost a year on Blood of Twilight now, and my friend just kind of… laughed at it. It kinda hurt.

Yeah sadly that's the case, I probably won't ever get any of my stuff here, as everything I write is pretty dark. I've tried not to be dark, but something in me just has to write a more mature and complex plot. I also can't stand when something isn't dark enough. Like a character getting hurt badly and no bl**d being involved. It just annoys me.

I'm so sorry to hear that about your story :( I imagine it's great, and I'd like to read it to prove them wrong.

I can write non dark, but when I do it ends up turning into a comedy. I can stand a character getting hurt with no blood involved depending on what the attack was, like say it was a slash wound there should be something, but say magic or fire I am fine without it.
And also saying that about my story and barely knowing what it is I want to say that means quite a lot to me, thank you. I intend to post it somewhere someday… likely AO3?
