Best starter from each region

For kanto: I like all of them the same

For johto: it’s the chikorita line

For hoenn: it’s the mudkip line

Fo sinnoh: it’s the turtwig and chimchar

For unova: it’s the snivy line

For Kalos: it’s the fennekin line

For alola: it’s the popplio line

For galar: it’s the sobble line

For paldea: it’s the sprigatito line

I'm considering copy and pasting my last answer

I'll just retype it!

Kanto: Charizard (I strongly dislike the other two)

Johto: I don't like any of them, but Feraligatr is at least decent

Hoen: It's close between Blaziken and Sceptile, but Blaziken wins (I don't like Swampert at all)

Sinnoh: INFERNAAAAAAAAAAAPE!!! (I don't like the other two at all!)

Unova: Samurott (the other two aren't even decent)

Kalos: Greninja (I've recently found out I don't actually like any of them)

Alola: It's close between Decidueye and Incinaroar but I think I like Decidueye more

Galar: Easily Cinderace, but Inteleon is cool, too

Paldea: Quaquaval! Meowscarada is awesome, too, though

I want to also include Hisui, though

Hisuian Decidueye and Hisuian Samurott tie

I like cool designs

Charizard is an awesome dragon (winged lizard)

Feraligatr is a cool (I guess) alligator

Blaziken and Sceptile are just cool in general

Infernape is an awesome combat monkey with fire

Samurott is a Samurai seal (I normally would not find that cool but Pokémon pulled it off)

Greninja is a ninja (I went through a ninja phase growing up)

Decidueye is an assassin owl and Incinaroar is only awesome because of Kukui/Masked Royale

Cinderace... actually isn't that cool. But I love it with most of my heart! Inteleon is a secret agent lizard with finger guns (what about that isn't cool?)

Quaquaval actually reminds me a lot of myself and Meowscarada is a sneaky magician cat (I love cats and magic)

I think a lot of simple designs are cool, being simple doesn’t make the designs bad, like charizard is cool even though it’s just a simple dragon, sceptile is just a simple lizard. Like umbreon is one of the most popular pokemon and it is really simple

Charizard (It and Kingler are the only Kanto Pokemon that can even break my top 100.)

Feraligatr (Top 50 Pokemon, pretty awesome, it used to be Typhlosion, but for some reason in 2024 I strongly wanted to disociate from it, and everything it stood for.)

Sceptile (Easily a top 20 Pokemon no questions asked.)

Infernape (A top 10 Pokemon easily.)

Emboar (I like it, but it's nowhere near anything else here.)

Chesnaught (Is the coolest of the three starters if you forget that Quilladin is a thing.)

Incineroar (Primarina and Decidueye are incredibly close, but they are not topping my litteral favourite Pokemon)

Rillaboom (I like it, it's definitely my least favourite here, but at least it means I can also use both Drednaw and Centiskorck in a playthrough so it's got that going for it.)

Samurott (All of these starters would've been better if the whole lines actually connected to them, still an awesome Pokemon, top 100 easy, but could've worked a lot better than it did.)

Skeliderge (Great Pokemon in design and excecution, unfortunately though, the Paldean Pokedex has Armorouge, Gouging Fire, and Scovillain, so it doesn't make as much sense to use it again so that I can try out both of the other starters.)

Emboar (Best Z-A starter by a longshot, even if I like Feraligatr.)
