Based in Kanto about 20-30 years back
You see, we are a person aiming to be the Champion
Doesn't sound interesting, right?
All the games do that
We'll just be playing Red as someone else
Well, yes but no
See, the rival will be dramatic pause GIOVANNI!!!
The story will be his back story
So the story will be similar to Hop if he took the turn Kierran did
He wanted to be Champion
We always beat him
We become Champion
Right after he then comes in and challenges you
You immediately have to defend your title (sounds like Blue's story, huh?)
You beat Giovanni and that's what breaks him
He was right about to have everything he ever dreamed of and, like always, you were there to take it from him
It turns him cold
If he can't have the one thing he wanted, he'll have everything else
Post game will have a few new NPCs and some old ones with new lines that talk about a new villain organization called "Team Rocket" that had a mysterious, cruel boss
You even start finding Grunts in random places to show what they were at the beginning
You never find Giovanni, though, so you can't stop him
There would be more (like things showing Giovanni slowly going bad and more than just that in the post game) but that's all I came up with
Also, there would be some differences
Like different Gym Leaders
Misty is young, so I know she wouldn't have been a Gym Leader at this time (I don't think she even existed...)
Brock probably wouldn't have been a Gym Leader, either (I think he inherited it from his dad but I could be wrong)
Also, Agatha says that back in the day her and Oak used to journey together
I think she meant teen years but they never specified
Wouldn't it be cool to battle Oak?
