Me and Zane make it out of the woods. We see the sunrise in the distance, painting the sky in gold and blue. I smile.

"We did it," I say happily, looking at Zane. "We escaped!"

The monkey looks at me with a smile. "Heck yeah," he exclaims. We stand there silently for a bit. "Now what," he asks.

"I don't know," I answer truthfully. "I didn't think that far ahead."

"This was your idea," he shouts. "How did you not have a plan!?"

"I don't know! I'm twelve," I counter. Pathetic reasoning, but he seems to think that it answered everything. I sigh. "The best thing we can do is find another village. They can take us in and we'll live there. Granted, we'll probably have to earn our stay, but anything is better than where we came from."

Zane nods. "Okay, sounds good."

With that, we set off, looking for a new home. We travel very far, through forests and plains, and searching for hours, never finding anything. I'm ready to give up and tell Zane we'll just survive in the wild, but then we find somewhere.

It's like nothing I've ever seen before! The houses are tall, seeming to touch the sky. And there are items in windows, like fruits I've never seen before and clothes that are so different than the white robes my whole village wears. The walking path is crowded with people and there is a strip of path dedicated to large metal objects that carry people and move with wheels.

Me and Zane look at everything with awe. "What kind of village is this," I ask. Zane shrugs.

"No idea," he tells me.

We continue to walk, unsure of where to go. I try to ask people for help, but they're all in too big of a rush to stop and hear me. The longer we're here, the more people begin to fill the path. Soon, me and Zane are getting drowned in an ocean of people.

I try to maintain my footing, but there's too many humans shoving against me. "ZANE," I scream as I get knocked to the ground, blacking out along the way.

...

I slowly open my eyes, looking around. I'm no longer in the busy village. Instead, I'm in a black void. I sigh, knowing where this is. "Come out, you big horse," I shout into the darkness.

In a flash of gold light, Arceus appears before me. The Pokémon that ruined my life by making me its Chosen One. Giving me a connection to it only so it can watch over me as I train to the point of near death. I glare up at it.

"Qilin," it states. I tilt my head.

"I'm sorry, what," I question.

"You called me a horse. I'm a Qilin," it tells me. I roll my eyes.

"Whatever," I say with an unneeded attitude. "Why am I here?"

"Because you're attempting to escape your destiny," it responds. "You'll fail."

I smirk. "No I won't. Now that I'm out of the village, I won't be forced to train and fulfill the stupid reason you put me on this Earth." My smirk shifts into a soft smile. "I'll just get to be me."

The god shakes its head. "You'll never escape your purpose," it tells me. "You can run from your village, but we'll always be connected. I'll just get you when your time comes."

I cross my arms. "No you won't," I state confidently. "I'll just avoid you. Block you out. Then, you won't be able to reach out to me and make me do whatever it is you want."

The diety laughs. "You really think you can push me away that easily," it questions, its amusement obvious. "You can't do that."

My eye twitches with annoyance. "Oh yeah? Watch me!" With that, I force myself awake, escaping the large mule.

...

I jolt awake, sitting straight up. My right arm is numb and burns. I look at it and the symbol of Arceus, the one that marks me as its Chosen One, on my right forearm is glowing gold. I put my hand over it, wincing slightly. It slowly cools down.

I look around, realizing that I'm no longer in the large village. I'm in a small room that's a bit bigger than the one I had in my village. The walls are bare and white and there's a window that shows a field of Sitris Berry trees. I look down and see that I am in a bed (much different than the sleeping bag I used to be in at my village) and have two fluffy pillows and a fuzzy blue blanket.

As I continue to look around, I notice the absence of my partner. "ZANE," I holler, panic filling me. My monkey bursts into the room.

"What," he shouts, looking around. "Who's attacking you?"

I sigh with relief. "Nobody. I didn't see you and got worried."

"Oh," he says, relaxing. "No, I'm fine. A nice family found us after you collapsed and took us to their home."

As he finishes telling me that, a woman walks into the room. I can't see her well in the darkness, but I can see her long blonde hair and gentle bright blue eyes.

"Everything okay, darling," she asks, hey voice soft and sweet.

"Um…" I look around, thinking she's talking to someone else. "D-Do you mean me?"

She chuckles, the sound like a soothing lullaby to the soul. "Yes, you. I heard you yelling."

"O-Oh, yeah. I-I couldn't find Zane, my Infernape," I explain, gesturing to him. She nods.

"Well don't worry. He's okay. And so are you," she tells me with a soft smile. It makes me a bit uncomfortable.

"Why are you being so nice," I question. "I don't have anything I can give you in return. Well, actually, I can provide labor. Is that what you want?"

The woman shakes her head. "No! There's no need to pay me back," she tells me. "I just want to make sure you're safe." She looks at a clock on the wall. "Go ahead and go back to sleep. If you need anything, just holler and me, my wife, or one of the boys will help you. Okay?"

I nod. "O-Okay..." I hesitantly lay back down as she leaves. Zane smiles at me.

"I'm gonna go back downstairs," he tells me softly. "See you in the morning."

I nod. "See you," I respond as he leaves. I try to stay awake. I don't know why that woman was nice, but I don't trust her. If I go to sleep, I'll be vulnerable to an attack.

However, even as I fight to keep consciousness, the comfy bed and exhaustion of from my escape overpower my worries, and the room fades to black as I drift off to sleep.

So I got extra time to make this and so it is late

I know it is probably flawed and I apologize

I'll fix any errors in the morning
