How to get started

Absolutely new to Pokemon TCG. I grew up watching all the Pokemon series and have a decent idea about Pokemon in general but never played any games except Pokemon Go. Recently been hooked to all the YouTube content on Pokemon cards and would love to start a collection...but not sure where to start.

Would appreciate any input at all in what decks/packs/etb etc to get started with. I have no interest in battling, just want to have a collection.

i think a good set to start is scarlet and violet base set.

and a good place to start playing the game is called tcp pocket. it can be downloaded on your phone.
