Give Aerodactyl A new ability in place of Rock Head.
I've conceded defeat now, and accepted that Aerodactyl is never going to enjoy the synergy between Rock Head + Brave Bird. The Legends ZA DLC has dropped, and introduced a lot of new Mega Pokémon, some of which will take Aero out in one hit and outspeed him (Lucario Z, Garchomp Z, Absol Z) to say nothing of Pokémon that will just eat his attacks now. In addition to lots of Pokémon getting Moveset increases, Aerodactyl got basically nothing. But that's besides the point.
I've accepted that Aerodactyl is now a designated lower tier Pokémon.
Having said that, I think GameFreak should consider giving base form Aerodactyl a new ability as opposed to Rock Head, which is functionally useless on it. Here's some ideas even though you won't reply to this post or in fact, the post won't even end up going live because it's either being blocked, or the site is incredibly fucked up:
- Intimidate, since Aero is a scary and savage looking Pokémon that would instill fear on any opponent seeing it.
- Adaptability. Since it's a fossil Pokémon but otherwise living in the modern times, there's a case to be said that it's adaptable than many other Pokémon.
- Defiant. Would offer more counterplay against Pokémon that try to shut Aero down with intimidate.
- Rough Skin. Aero is a rock type Pokémon, so it'd thematically make sense that his skin is rough and jagged on contact.
Also I think Aero should now get access to U-Turn so that he can use his above average speed stat to pivot teammates in and out of battle but sure, what do I know.

i think against all those strategies there are skills that would outshine the current counters but still there would be a big list of choices against them.
Either it's weather, infatuation, rocky helmet, or training strategies. You have a shot to be like the very best. Like no one ever was.
