Ash should have changed his team
Major Spoilers From The End of Journeys
It's been years
I know
But it's bugging me right now so I'm saying something!
Ash should have changed his team before going into the championships!
The only Pokémon I think he should have kept is Lucario
By default he's using Pikachu
The rest need switched out
Infernape, Charizard, Hawlucha, and Incinaroar
I'd love to switch Pikachu with Sceptile, but Ash would never do that
Infernape has only lost once (if memory serves)
Charizard is just flat out powerful (his Charizard is what made me love Charizard in the first place)
Hawlucha is agile and strong and willing to challenge any and all
And we never got to see Incinaroar in battle. It evolved at the end of the series. However, it took out an Incinaroar, Kukui's to be exact, so you know it's strong
I want his Sceptile though because, not only is it cool, I remember it being powerful
Another one I want is Greninja
Literally in Ash's top 3 best Pokémon
However, he literally can't use it
It has to protect Kalos
I just wish we got to see Ash-Greninja one last time, and seeing it in the championships would have been amazing!
So just to sum it up, Pikachu, Charizard, Lucario, Infernape, Hawlucha, and Incinaroar
He could still use Mega Evolution (Lucario), G-Max (Pikachu), and Z-Move (literally any of them)
And it's not like he didn't have time before the championship match
He was literally at the lab a few days before it!
And it's not hard to get Pokémon sent to him
It was possible!
Also, why was Dawn the only person to show up for Ash?
Misty, Cilan, and Clemont couldn't due to being Gym Leaders
Iris was there as a challenger
Serena (and possibly May) wouldn't make it because of contest stuff
That's the only people that I think are okay they missed it
But Brock ain't even a Gym Leader any more!
He works at a Pokémon Center now!
Nurse Joy would have let him take the day off to see Ash battle!
The whole Alola group could have made it (except Lillie and Gladion)
Kukui could have made it a "school trip" and they could have went and watched it
But no!
And his mom and Professor Oak just sat and watched it on the TV!
Oak's make sense
He has to run a lab
BUT HIS MOTHER DIDN'T COME!?
And I don't think she works, so I bet she could have came!
But she didn't!
You know what's funny?
Team Rocket was there to cheer him on but yet most of his friends and mother wasn't
That's one of the many reasons them three are the best!
Something that annoyed me was Ash and Serena reunited and there was no talk anout the kiss
No hint at any feelings
I don't ship the two of them, but that upset me!
I always wondered what would happen when they saw each other again and that was not what I expected
It was pretty disappointing!

So this became more than what I meant for
You know, the funny thing is I'm quite happy with how the series ended
But based on all that you'd probably think otherwise!

I think the Masters 8 first round should've been full 6v6 battles, and ash should've rotated his pokemon around for it.
Here's how it could've worked:
Round 1: Gengar, Pikachu, Sirfetch'd, Dragonite, Dracovish, Lucario.Round 2: Lucario, Pikachu, Infernape, Bulbasaur, Talonflame, Incineroar.
Round 3: Pikachu, Lucario, Infernape, Charizard, Sceptile, Lycanrock,

I tried to rep each region except Johto.

Infernape is here twice because of how much Journeys focused on him, and because he seemed like a vital pokemon for both matches.

I almost did Lycanroc but chose Incinaroar since we never got to see it in battle
However, I like your idea
That would have been much more entertaining
