This new license journey is bad

Forcing players to purchase characters in a specific order is absolutely disgusting. In a game like Pokemon Unite, who you choose to bring into the battle makes the biggest difference and this new system essentially prevents that from being an option.

I have many gripes in regards to this game but I took the time to make this post here to bring more awareness and visibility to this specific problem. Players should be able to acquire any character without any prerequisites. Forcing a prerequisite purchase in this way makes no sense. The only way it would make sense is if you wanted to acquire a mega pokemon to which the prerequisite would be its normal counterpart. Or maybe a Pikachu prerequisite before you can get Alolan Raichu.

Forcing this type of progression is not conducive to helping grow the player base. Please change this system as soon as possible because given the way it currently works, I simply cannot recommend this game any longer to anyone else.

I agree with OP. I’ve been playing for a very long time but I don’t have all the Pokemon yet. It’s by far the worst change that has been made to the game since launch. It’s bad for everyone, new and old players both. It actively dissuades me from playing the game because i know that it’s essentially impossible to get some of the Pokemon I want if I don’t want to spend money. And I’ve spent plenty of money already.

it’s terrible. It’s the worst chance the dev team has made to this game.

imo the worst part is that you can get like 3 license points a day, total(maybe 8 if your friends send you some) and some licenses cost over 1k points. I don’t mind a system like this since there are the levels that let you pick any license, but I do not like how, as a f2p player, you have essentially no form of progression anymore. It also feels pointless to play the game outside of pushing rank because they removed the coin incentive to playing matches.

deleting my feedback when Spragels a big unite person that represents the game says it. That's not sharing feedback it's avoiding my feedback as a player when It gets removed

    I have to agree.

I honestly wouldn't be so bothered by it, IF it wasn't for the fact that the Battle pass is literally the ONLY reliable way to acquire a meaningful amount of License points right now. which feels a lot like a Pay to Win (or rather, pay to play these specific things instead of earning it in a more meaningful way) which is NOT what was advertised to us when License Journeys was announced.

and mind you it ONLY goes up to Level 50 because for some reason... They just decided that the mystery crates shouldn't be able to give you License points, which makes this battle pass feel like EVEN MORE of a rip-off than it did before. No special frames or backgrounds for trainer cards, no new outfit with color variants. License points, a pair of colorful contacts, and the Glaceon skin.

This season's changes just feel disappointing overall.

Bad is the wrong word. This new system has literally killed the game off. One of unites biggest problems (among many others) is the lack of player base. It takes ages to get a game, and this move does everything possible to make sure new players have no incentive to join whilst dedicated players leave to play something more meaningful which rewards their time more. For context, before the update, I had already unlocked all the licenses with coins, and have spent gems on the ones I wanted to play early. Through this method I've spent a considerable amount of money, but this was a choice so I was ok with it.

The new system Forces you to spend money. The only way to obtain license points is through the battle pass which I never buy because I don't find it value for money. Mega Gyrados has just come out for everyone, and usually I'd have bought it with coins, but I can't now. I'll have to wait month(s) before I have enough points to unlock it, and that's just 1 pokemon! The game has become pay to win and that is not something I'm willing to stick around for. If I was a new player, I would have left after a few months. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the old coin system. Change it back before it's too late.
