Honestly, i kinda recently stopped having character crushes. I might say that a character might be cute, but not on a "I wish they were real because they're hot" kinda thing

You should look into yumeshipping. I've never experienced it so idk if this is on point but it's basically shipping yourself with a character in your mind I think?

This. Besides the detail of having had them in the past. I sometimes find character design cute, but cute in a pinch-your-cheeks kind of way and not in an ask-you-out kind of way.
