I JUST HAD THE BEST GALAR PLOT TWIST IDEA EVER!!!
SONIA IS EVIL!!!
Just kidding (although I still believe that)
It's actually an idea for the next Legends game
So for the past few days I've been cooking up a good idea for the next Pokémon game
It's based in Medieval Europe, but I couldn't figure out if it would be based in the past or present
I felt that, if the past, it connects too much to Galar even though not in Galar
I've decided to go with the past and it will directly connect to Galar lore, but not actually be in Galar
It'll be where the brothers that stopped Eternataus came from
I will post about this in the future but I want to develop the idea further and study up on Medieval Europe more
Anyways, having direct ties to Galar lore makes me think of Galar lore
And the best idea came to me!
What if one of the brothers were a traitor?
Rose had to personally raise and hatch Eternataus, and I know it might have been able to hatch by itself in the past, but let's say it couldn't
Here's how it happened
The guy is jealous of his brother because he thinks everyone thinks the brother is better than him
He finds out about Eternataus
He starts going on "out of town business" which is actually raising Eternataus
It obviously unleashes Max energy on the world, which he comes back home and finds his brother dealing with
He plays hero and helps his brother take down the Max Pokémon, which is actually strengthening Eternataus
His brother discovers Eterantaus's existence and location (on the top of a mountain in past Galar)
He acts surprised by the news and agrees to help his brother stop this "monstrosity"
Once on the mountain, brother is like "Let's defeat this!"
And he's like "Nah"
And brother is like "Why?"
And then he reveals his villain story to his brother and how this is his plan to end him and Medieval Europe, finally proving he's better than everyone thinks
Now Zacian/Zamazenta was just as oblivious as the brother and are shocked
He then attacks his brother with a full team, which his brother defeats with his Weapon Dog
As a last resort, he tells his dog to attack, but being a heroic Pokémon it refuses and joins the brother's side
But then the guy realizes he was overlooking his biggest weapon
G-MAX ETERNATAUS!!!
He fights his brother in a 2v1 (Dogs vs G-Max)
And, of coarse, loses, which angers him more because he still can't top his brother
The brother shows mercy and tries to take him back, but he refuses, backing away from his brother and falling off the mountain to his death
His brother, now heart broken, returns to the village with dogs, where they celebrate Eternataus's defeat
They notice the lack of villain and ask where he is
The brother doesn't have a heart to say it and claims he died helping him battle Eternataus
In honor of the guy, the village makes a grave even though they don't have a body and celebrate in his honor
Once the brother finally died they put his grave next to the villain, putting their heroes together
What a twist that would be!
We could play as the good brother in the Legends game, unaware of the villain that is next to us!
What do y'all think?

The biggest twist here would be playing as a character instead of a generic self-insert whose only role in the story is to win, for the first time in Pokémon (I don't have any problems with the trope since it's fun to basically be your own character, I'm just pointing out that this would be a change to that where it's a character who's actually part of the story instead). I wonder what would happen to character customisation?
