Title: The Story of How Pokémon Was Founded 🌍⚡

Hey everyone!
I thought it would be fun to share the story of how Pokémon actually got started. A lot of us grew up with it, but the origin is really inspiring.

🌱 The Inspiration

Pokémon all began with a boy named Satoshi Tajiri. As a kid in Japan, he loved exploring nature and catching insects, so much that friends nicknamed him “Dr. Bug.” When his hometown turned more urban, he lost the fields and streams he once played in—but his passion for collecting creatures never went away.

🎮 The Birth of Game Freak

Tajiri started out writing a fan magazine about video games called Game Freak. Later, he turned it into a game development company with his friend Ken Sugimori, who drew the first Pokémon designs. Their dream was to make a game where players could catch, trade, and battle little creatures—like bug collecting, but in a digital world.

🔗 The Link Cable Idea

When Tajiri saw the Game Boy link cable, he imagined creatures moving between two Game Boys. That’s where the idea of trading Pokémon with friends came from. It became the foundation of the whole franchise.

🕹️ Pokémon Red & Green (1996)

After years of tough development, Game Freak finally released Pokémon Red and Green in Japan in 1996. Players traveled across Kanto, caught Pokémon, and aimed to be the very best. The games exploded in popularity, leading to Pokémon Blue and later Pokémon Yellow (inspired by the anime).

🌍 Global Expansion

In 1998, Pokémon launched worldwide with Pokémon Red and Blue in North America. At the same time, the anime with Ash and Pikachu started airing, alongside the trading card game and toys. It quickly became a worldwide craze—Pokémon was everywhere.

✨ Today

From those humble beginnings, Pokémon has grown into one of the largest franchises in history—with video games, anime, cards, movies, and fans across generations. And it all started because one boy loved catching bugs. 🐛➡️⚡
