Help with my gholdengo deck

I am thinking of taking out my energy search pro

I find it is good for one main attack and then I get Iono.

I have experimented a couple of league nights by not using it and I was still able to win.

I am thinking of switching to hero's cape.

A full deck list is necessary to fully determine what you may or may not need, but most Gholdengo decks run Energy Search Pro for good reason. Yes, you'll get one good main attack, but the big reason is that once you have all the Energy cards in one place (your hand), you can discard a bunch of them for use later, because once they're in the discard, your opponent can't do anything about you getting them back later with items like Superior Energy Retrieval (which if used to its fullest, basically gives you +200 damage for each one) and even the Stadium Levincia (best if you run 2 Lightning Energy, so you can keep getting them back turn after turn). You're only losing your Energy to Iono because you aren't discarding as much as you could. Not saying you should discard all your Energy in one attack, maybe keep a couple in hand to search out with Earthen Vessel later.

My point is that Energy Search Pro is not the problem, it's a crucial piece that you shouldn't be so ready to give up on.
