It's good to see communication over past decisions. I think the time to craft overnumbered cards could be shortened to at least 3 months, or whenever the next set releases.
I'm hoping for some news on implementation of cards from BW and XY eras, though. Would certainly pique my interest in expanded.

Hi, first of all, thank you for communicating with us players.
It's very nice to hear that you are at least on the way to better features for competitive players, such as a leaderboard.
Personally, I would also think it would be cool if expanded players got a ranked mode of their own, which might give expanded-only players a reason to grind.
And please, please add the complete expanded card pool. So many cards that are crucial to the game are missing, such as Wally or Double Dragon Energy.
If the rest of the card pool were added, I would also play Expanded, but as it stands, I unfortunately don't see the point in it, and I know that some others feel the same way.2 -
can we please get a leaderboard for rank ladder? That’s all we’ve been asking for

I really wish we could have a way to use cards from the BW/XY era cards. I had a lot of good decks on PTCGO that i would like to use. Even if Pokemon didn't want to make a new format maybe make it where we could use them just for deck testing fun.

First of all, thank you so much for the ongoing communication. It’s great to see that you guys are putting in love into the app as Pokemon competitive play continues to grow.
This app is a testing ground for many of us, and keeping it free to play is absolutely the right idea. We test our decks and ideas on TCGLIVE but we bring those ideas to life at our local stores, this flow of ideation to physical deck, is considerably more beneficial for the health and future of the game versus any short term profits that can be attained.
Since you are listening I have a couple things that I’d like to give feedback on:
- Love the Pokédex feature, but it needs something more, something rewarding for completing sets, and master sets. Maybe a themed deck box and sleeves, with some trainer points. I think this will encourage players to complete them.
- Leaderboards to see who “the very best” really is.
- Improve the AI deck test. The AI is using non-standard decks and the logic is flawed. It uses everything it can and tries to deck itself out, more times than not. This goes back to the deck ideation, I find myself testing decks in casual to just quit the match when I realize it isn’t working. I see people quitting casuals for this as well, if we had a way to test decks against a competitive AI it will likely drop the quitting we see so often in Casual play.
- As of 3-4 patches ago, the game loaded fairly quickly, there seems to be a longer delay on the loading screen before the game actually loads.
- Network connectivity has gotten better but there needs to be a way to allow us to reconnect to a battle if we were disconnected, particularly in mobile when if you switch from a WiFi connection to a cell connection the client disconnects you and there is no way of getting back onto the battle. I find myself having to finish a battle on the WiFi before leaving the location I’m in.
- Time and Battery, on mobile you cannot see your battery life nor the time. I can’t count how many times I’ve had my phone die on me in the middle of a match. Also, I’ve been going to sleep too late because I don’t realize it’s 3am 😂.
- Animations catch up when switching back to the app on mobile, take so long that many times force your timer to go and auto pass for inactivity. I think the feature is great, but if it’s already your turn and the countdown feature has started we should be able to skip opponent animations and just go to our turn.
- Exporting of deck list is weird, instead of showing the amount of Pokemon, Trainers and Energies, it shows the amount of the different ones. Seems counter intuitive, also all the existing platforms that you can upload and download deck lists from have it correct.
- Finally, add the rest of the sets for Pokemon. With this no economy of points you have created, it becomes more fun to finish sets. Also the Expanded format is essentially dead; both online and physical. Adding the remaining sets allows for more creativity and might be what the format needs to be revive locally.
Overall, seems like you guys are doing a great job and I know for many trainers it’s the only way they’ve been able to rip packs.

Please keep the communication up. We are loving it!

In all honesty I think this is the most useful comments you could take. I agree with pretty much everything they have said.
KEEP IT FREE.
The reason I've been playing this version of the game is because I cannot find physical cards at an affordable price to play locally. The amount of joy it brings to the people who can't afford the card game is crucial to the love that your game has developed over decades.
