Fun facts about the rivals! Part one (Gen one)
New series I'm starting on the forums! I have a couple more facts so I'll have some post Ideas!
To start off, the forgettable grandson, yet memorable rival, Blue. In his battles in Pokemon Yellow, you'll notice his starter was Eevee. But depending on how you did in previous battles, the Eeveelution will change!
If the player wins both the first battle in Professor Oak's lab and the optional battle on Route 22, Blue's Eevee evolves into Jolteon.
If the player wins the first battle and then loses or skips the second battle (or vice versa), Blue's Eevee evolves into Flareon.
If the player loses both of the initial battles, Blue's Eevee will evolve into Vaporeon.
Now for Green. She is actually a theif and a pretty good one at that. In the Manga, she steals Red's gym badges and makes a replica that's nearly identical. She even fooled team rocket! She was also kidnapped by Ho-oh when she was five.
Now this one kinda doesn't count but I still want to include her! (Also because she is my favorite character in the kanto Mangas) She is only in the Manga, but her name is Yellow. She was born March 3rd She wears a hat to keep her hair up, to look like a boy. Her other name when she has her hair up is Amarillo del Bosque Verde. Which for those who don't speak Spanish is Yellow of the Virdian Forest. (I do speak Spanish so I knew what it meant when I read it) But it also implies that there are other languages in the pokemon world. But Ash also mentions the Minnesota Vikings so it's just confusing.
