My Ting-Lu ex is preventing my Froslass's damage

I have noticed an issue where if I have my Ting-Lu ex in the active position, my own Froslass's Freezing Shroud ability is not applying damage to my opponent's Pokémon with abilities during Pokémon checkup. This would occur both when my Froslass had damage and no damage on it meaning it doesn't seem to be an issue of Ting-Lu ex shutting off my Froslass's ability.
