Cheaters/ hackers in the game

I've encountered several hackers in TCG Live and at this point I will no longer be playing it. I've just reached Ultra League in the ranked battles, and I've noticed that in several matches, I've been paired with opponents who are still in the Nest League which makes absolutely no sense to me. This game is supposed to pair you with those who are close in rankings.

In one match, I could not land any attack on a basic Pidgey with my Larvitar which only has one attack. I had the required energy attached to it too, but twice nothing happened.

These illegal cheaters/ scammers are ruining the game for me. It's a shame because I absolutely love Pokemon, but I will not be giving those cheaters the time of day anymore.

I'm saying this all the time ever since I joined PTCGO. The matchmaking system for this game is awful.

It probably use basic Elo rating system, which is absolutely terrible choice unless it's each deck that have it's own rating.

That's apparently not the case though, and the Elo rating is per player. This however is not chess where both sides have exact same play, and victory is decided by whoever is better strategist. Each deck in PTCG performs differently.

The way it is now the opponent is decided simply by how many games in row you have won or lost.

If you have high Elo and lost few games in row because of bad luck, it will place you against player with low ELO, to secure easy win and end your loosing streak.

Same the other way around. When you play less competitive deck for fun, not to win all the time, you will often serve as fodder for players with more competitive deck, to end their loosing streak. Only after loosing too many battles in row, you will get free win from someone who's deck is even less competitive, or worse - they loose for inactivity.

It's not designed to find equal match for fair competition.

The game is also full of bugs where server does not respond correctly and prevent you from taking action.

That just sounds like the pidgey resists fighting types, as pidgey tend to do.

I'm new to TCG, so it's good to know that it might be my deck that's against me and not cheaters. I'll give TCG Live another chance.

I recommend if you run into any more issues to run it by more experienced players before making accusations. There are mechanics in the game like damage counter placement (which counts as the effect of an attack and bypasses cards which block only damage) that can seem to be cheating at first glance but are just part of the game.

Sorry about the accusations. My experience in the social online environment is not the best. I will discuss issues with more experienced players in the future.
