Screen Cleaner blocks Doom Curse in the turn it is activated.
My opponent attacked my ADP with Hisuian Zoroark's Doom curse (Lost Origin 76).
"At the end of your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon will be Knocked Out."
During my turn, I evolved a benched Galarian Mr. Mime into Mr. Rime with the Screen cleaner ability. (Rebel Clash 38)
"Prevent all effects of your opponent's attacks, except damage, done to all of your Pokémon that have (W) Energy attached. (Existing effects are not removed.)"
My ADP Did not leave the active spot during my turn. I was expecting for it to be knocked out, since screen cleaner would not remove the existing effect. After I attacked and took prize cards, the pop-up for doom curse appeared but my Pokemon was not ko'd.
I believe this to be a bug as it contradicts this ruling. An Identically worded ability was activated during a turn, and it didn't prevent an identically worded effect.
