I miss playing expanded, it’s been years and we still don’t have access to the full slate of expanded cards. Any news on when they’ll be available?

Ah, is that why I cant use certain cards I pulled? Like Hoothoot (ASR TG12) or Radiant Greninja?

No, for Hoothoot you have to open the "available" button when choosing your card and pick the corresponding alternate art; for Greninja you can't play it in Standard anymore since it rotated out, but it's available in Expanded beta (you probably are trying to add it in a deck marked as Standard instead of Expanded).

Only Scarlet & Violet cards can be used right now, other cards (including cards you described) are rotated (so they can't be used in Standard).
