Australian distribution and stock

TPC really needs to sort this out.

Pokemon TCG is the only card game to have no stock anywhere in the country. Literally only the secondhand (scalper) market has stock. This doesn't happen to Yu-Gi-Oh or Magic, both arguably just as big in Australia, or any other tcg.

Not only that, but why the hell doesn't Aus (and NZ) get the card expansions at the same time UK, Can, US do? Why is it that expansions don't release for weeks, or months after?

We still widely cannot preorder Journey Together, let alone Destined Rivals. And honestly, I think 1 US Walmart probably got more Blooming Waters stock than the whole of Australia.

TPC needs to do better. Fix stock levels, communicate when releases are happening. We have an AUS "Pokemon centre" but we never get communication.

The only ones who benefit from the lack of transparency or effort to keep stock flowing is the scalpers, who can monitor when stock drops (because everyone else works) and can buy the entire market before people get a chance to even see listings.

This is NOT good enough.

Okay, whinge over. I am sure other countries experience the same thing. I But it is ridiculous. This doesn't happen with any other TCG, only Pokemon.

Completely agree on your points, I've been in this hobby for years now. It's honestly gobsmacking that whilst the US market's stupid scalping problem is slowly getting solved by reprints, ours continues to blow up due to the lack of supply arriving on our shores. It's made even worst by distributors charging more and more to the card shops and retailers. WHY IS MSRP FOR A BLISTER 8.50$ now, it was literally $7 last year, the distributor is charging more and more despite receiving the product from the PC for the same price, it's just ridiculous :(
