Figure I'll add Let's GO given it's loosely based on Yellow version but I'd take Eevee over Pikachu for two reasons. 1) I've played Yellow version for 25 years so I've effectively played Pikachu version for that long. I've had my fill of Pikachu so I'd play Eevee version if only to see what it would be like if Blue hadn't snatched it away. 2) Eevee in Let's GO learns special moves that are based on its Evolutions, giving the Normal Type insane coverage to go with STAB Headbutt once you defeat Brock.

Also, the Pikachu in Yellow version is weaker than a typical Pikachu you can catch today. Typical Pikachu's have 40 base Defense while your Yellow version starter has 30. The partner Pikachu in Let's GO(ditto Eevee) is on steroids too with a 100 base stat increase.

I'm so happy that someone finally understands that Grookey is the best Galar starter.

Kanto: Bulbasaur. It's just so mathematical to leech seed, poison powder, giga drain in the late game

    Kanto(LGPE): Pikachu

    Johto:Totodile

Hoenn:Mudkip(my recommendation for version and starter for a beginner)

    Sinnoh:Infernape

Sinnoh(PLA):Haven't played through because of the giant hurdle intimidating me but I like Cyndaquil though I have Samurott

    Unova:Tepig

    Kalos:Cheap inChespi

    Alola:Rowlet

Galar:I'm early in a sobble playthrough(played the other two) but I think this might be the one

    Paldea:Sprigatito

    Z-A:Chiko

@Tacolaser + @L_LostWord Thanks? 🤔 My like of Snivy is not just its Hidden Ability but the Unova Anime had a bit to do with it too. Ash's Snivy was a sassy, take no prisoners Pokémon. Just a shame she never evolved because the middle and final evolutions were reserved for Trip's starter. As for Grookey, he's a competitive monster for a Grass Pokémon and is personally in my top 3 with respect to Grass types. Snivy line is my personal number 1 with Bulbasaur line in second and Grookey line in third.
