Is there a bug in Lost City stadium card?

Is it suppose only to discard the top pokémon card and discard the rest? Is the pre-evolution of the top pokémon cards considered attached cards and should be discarded and be in the lost zoned when knocked out? i will confirm this when i play again with the lost city stadium card.
