1996 cards?

isn’t there any way to get the good old cards from the 90’s? Personally I don’t like the new cards as much

Are you talking about the art on the cards? Or do you literally want cards as they appeared when the game was first published in Japan, stats and all?

I hope you just mean the art.

I grew up in the late 90's playing Pokemon, but I don't have nostalgia goggles for it being more fun than it really was.

It was very slow-paced back then. 6 prizes took WAY too long without EX's, and the attacks of most Pokemon were too low compared to HP.

Add status effects like Sleep, Paralyze, and Confuse onto it and it really was just a slog.

If you want to spend a couple hundred bucks, you can get the cards needed for some of the retro decks. Haymaker (the Base-Fossil format one) costs about $264.92 according to Limitless TCG's deck builder.
