'Launching Simultaneously...'

So I've seen some discussion about the final message on the Legends Z-A trailer, that message being 'Launching simultaneously worldwide in 2025'. This mainly comes from the amount of people waiting for the switch 2 (or whatever Nintendo calls it; also, just curious, has Nintendo ever given their consoles a '_____ 2' type of name?) so when people saw the simultaneously in the message, some presumed that it meant it was launching with Nintendo's next console but I personally think different.

I think the whole thing can be summed up as just a big misunderstanding. What I presume Pokémon was trying to say was that Legends Z-A would launch at the exactly the same time all over the world. This is unlike other Pokémon titles that have launched at the same time but in different countries/time zones (E.g. it is very common for people to switch their time zone to Australia to get games earlier). So a quick way of explaining this is to give an example; say that Legends Z-A launches at 7:00AM in Japan on March 21st, this would then be 22:00PM in GMT (UK time zone) or 17:00 in ET (USA time zone) as apposed to how Pokémon has launched in the past by making each time zone be at the same time individually (E.g. Launched at 7:00AM JST, also launches at 7:00AM ET) which would result in some areas getting the game earlier.

So to sum it up, I think Pokémon was simply just talking about the time and not any console launches.

If you think differently, feel free to share it in the comments!

It's launching on the same day around the world. It's not that complex. People are just desperate for any news about Z-A or the next Nintendo console, or indications regarding the release window.

I personally think they will be releasing it as a Switch title, but the next console should be compatible with Switch games, so they can take advantage of both the Switch's massive install base while still pushing the new hardware.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Z-A themed version of the new console, depending on the timing of both releases. I would also expect the game to have enhanced features for the new hardware were this any other developer, but Game Freak can barely get a game working on one console, never mind two.

I'm sure that was the only clue we have about its release date, and that it will release on the same date regardless of country. It's nothing new, really — it's been observed by the franchise starting from X and Y 11 years ago.
