so if I understood you correctly. You would be for route trainers giving rematches if their levels were closer to yours?

If Trainer rematches were to occur again, I'd program it to function differently than Generation 2 had it. They somewhat rectified that issue with HG/SS by preventing rematches after the 7th Badge but I find Trainer rematches should occur earlier and more frequently. Namely a trainer can rematch you as soon as you obtain a new Badge. Unfortunately, that would require coding in several "teams" for that respective Trainer and could swell the size of the game quite a bit.
