Cosmetic Prices

The prices for the cosmetics in the game currently feel a little ridiculous and weirdly random, idk why one thing is 100 gems and another is 750.

Even then though the moment something has to compete with a battle pass rank it's a tough sell so something like 50 gems for coins, 100 for deck boxes and 150 for sleeves I think would make more sense, else I'll probably just use what I have. Realistically going into this update my expectation for prices was like 25-75 gems for cosmetics, something small enough to justify just dropping a little when one had extra gems after bigger purchases.

I think 150 gems would be the absolute most I could justify for a cosmetic item unless they got a real uplift in quality to be on par with something like the Erika cosmetics in pocket or the Japanese character art sleeves but that would likely require hiring more staff since it seems TCPi isn't allowed to use TCP's sleeve arts. 3Dish art of a Pokemon with a generic background just doesn't cut it at these prices.

My assumption is that the intent here from the devs is to make doing the content that gives these items for free feel more rewarding (ie: the ladder and battle pass) but I think for that to be the case people have to really want those cosmetics.

On the flip side, making all the character cosmetics free also feels like a strange choice unless the plan is to wipe the slate clean and start over with them sooner rather than later (hopefully in an art style that more matches how human characters look in the majority of the franchise similarly to Pokemon Battle Revolution)

Nah, TPCi won't be changing anything. The majority of the Unite staff are very greedy and are interested in squeezing as much money out of the players, rather than developing a fun and good game. I agree with you completely, but I can guarantee you that nothing will be changing.

A game squeezing money out of players is usually a decision made from the top, not something the "majority of the staff" have any say in, Unite also isn't a TCPi project, it's mostly Tencent. I don't see how anything you're saying here relates to what I posted about, gems aren't a monetized currency in Live so there's no greed at play here in the first place.

You can only get gems by spending real money. Same with the battle pass. And I don't really know who's managing unite— Tencent or TPCi, it doesn't make a difference to me. Whoever is managing Unite are the greedy ones who keep releasing stuff that you can only get through real-money transactions. Sorry if I misunderstood your post; I thought this was what you were saying. But even if this is irrelevant to the topic at hand, I still stand by it.
