So this is a random question, but hypothetically, if I would go to a prerelease, and I wouldn't battle, would I still get the build-and-battle box, or would I have to battle to get it? The context behind this question is hard to explain.

Generally no, the kits are limited, but ultimately the organizing locations are responsible to manage the kits allocated to them.
