Regional server allocations for match making

I live in Australia and when I play ranked games if you put me on a Japanese or I assume a Hong Kong server the latency makes the game pretty much unable. Is there anyway for me not to get sent to server that is not on the continent I live on please, as the game then penalises me for disconnecting from a game I can just not play?
